Deciding to handcraft your own wedding rings gives an intimate and personal note to your special day. What better way to celebrate the uniqueness of your relationship? Your wedding rings are a sign of your commitment to each other and will be with you for a lifetime.

No previous experience of jewellery making is necessary, one to one guidance is on hand throughout. The format is a one day workshop for couples where you will spend a relaxed but productive day with contemporary jeweller, Kate Bajic, in her studio. The workshops run from 10am – 4pm and include refreshments and a light lunch (please let Kate know if there are any special dietary requirements at the time of booking).

When booking you will arrange for an initial consultation which can be in person, by phone or email, where you can choose the style of your rings including the size, shape and precious metal to be used. There are a whole range of materials to decide between including sterling silver, Brilliante silver, 9ct or 18ct yellow, red or white gold and 22ct yellow gold. There are also different shaped wires such as round, D shape or rectangular to consider. Kate advises that simple wedding bands, plain or hammered, made and finished perfectly, are the most satisfying to create. However if you would prefer something more complicated, it may be possible, please discuss this with her in your initial consultation to ensure it is something that can be created in one day.

Once these decisions have been made a date will be booked for your workshop and your materials ordered. Kate will give you an estimated cost for materials once the type and shape of the rings have been decided upon but gold & silver prices fluctuate daily so this may change slightly. If at the end of your workshop you would like your rings to be sent away to be hallmarked this can be arranged. There is an additional charge for this service, please ask for further details.

So to sum up;

• Book your consultation with Kate to decide on the shape/materials for your rings

• Book in your workshop, allowing plenty of time before your wedding date

• Turn up and have fun creating your unique handmade rings

• Either take your rings home with you, or send them to be hallmarked first

• Enjoy wearing your beautiful rings on your wedding day!

The cost for this workshop is £295 per couple plus the cost of materials and hallmarking. Weekends get booked up quickly so please leave plenty of time before your wedding to arrange a date.

Included in the workshop cost you also have the option to have photographs taken of you both making your wedding bands. These can be posted to you afterwards on a personalised CD to keep as a memento.

Terms and Conditions

Once you decide you’d like to design and make your wedding rings with Kate and you’d like to book a date for the workshop, then payment for the workshop and materials must be made in full. This should be no later than 3 weeks before the date of the workshop to allow time for the materials to be ordered. Fees are non-refundable after this time but dates can be rearranged if necessary. All payments are to be made by cheque payable to Kate Bajic or bank transfer.
