Lichenology
Initially developed as part of Kate's final project for her Masters degree, then expanded upon for her contemporary jewellery solo exhibition at The National Centre for Craft & Design, Lichenology is a series of eight handcrafted wearable brooches each portraying a physical, chemical and functional aspect of a specific lichen species. Following on from exhibiting at the NCCD in 2015, Kate's lichen jewellery toured to the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh from Feb-May 2016 to coincide with a botanical exhibition they had on at the time.
