Goldsmiths’ Fair 2022, 40th Anniversary Edition
Kate is delighted to have been selected for the first time to exhibit at Goldsmiths’ Fair. This
year is particularly special as the Fair celebrates it’s 40th year as the primary destination for
contemporary silver and fine jewellery.
Kate has created a collection of one of a kind and limited edition pieces for the event in her
distinctive handcrafted, lichen inspired style. The collection comprises statement brooches,
cuff bracelets, rings, earrings and stunning Evernia contemporary tiara. All hand fabricated
in sterling silver, 9ct or 18ct gold, with many pieces featuring lustrous baroque cultured
pearls, stunning dendritic agate, fire opal and aquamarine gemstones.
Each piece has been developed using the traditional jewellery techniques of hand
piercing, texturing, soldering and stone setting. The results emphasize the complex forms,
patterns and surfaces of lichen that Kate has studied growing in the countryside around her
Leicestershire studio.
Through her designs Kate hopes to show off the beautiful delicate details and structures
found in these often-overlooked species, which are so widespread in our environment and
offer such important functions, including as pollution indicators for our air quality.
