Kate is thrilled to be returning to COLLECT International Art Fair from February 23rd - 27th at Somerset House, London. This is the second year she has been selected to exhibit there with Design Nation, the leading UK based portfolio for Craft, Design and Product.

Kate has created a collection of five one off jewellery pieces for the fair in her distinctive
handcrafted, lichen inspired style. The collection comprises Evernia and Parmelia earrings, Foliose and Parmelia statement brooches and stunning Evernia contemporary tiara. All hand fabricated in sterling silver, 9ct or 18ct gold, with three pieces featuring lustrous baroque river pearls and one a stunning dendritic agate gemstone.

Each piece has been developed using the traditional jewellery techniques of hand piercing, texturing, soldering and stone setting. The results emphasize the complex forms, patterns and surfaces of lichen that Kate has studied growing in the countryside around her studio. Through her designs Kate hopes to show off the beautiful delicate details and structures found in these often-overlooked species, which are so widespread in our environment and offer such important functions, including as pollution indicators for our air quality.
