EAST MIDLANDS CONTEMPORARY JEWELLER EXHIBITS AT INTERNATIONAL CRAFT EVENT

Kate Bajic (Leicestershire based contemporary jeweller) has been chosen by a select panel of trade judges to be one of the three hundred craft makers appearing at Origin 2007, the Craft Councils premier retail event at Somerset House in London.

Origin will be held in a specially commissioned pavilion in the courtyard of Somerset House, one of London’s leading cultural centres. The event, running from 2nd -14th October 2007, has a host of national and international makers exhibiting everything from fashion to ceramics, millinery, glass, textiles, furniture and jewellery.

Kate is exhibiting in Week 1 from Tuesday 2nd – Sunday 7th October on Stand 1-B12. This is Kate’s second year exhibiting at the event; "Exhibiting at Origin last year was a fantastic experience. Somerset House is a beautiful venue and the location is excellent. There was a very high standard of work on show and a good variety of craft skills were represented. I am really looking forward to being a part of this year’s event."

Kate specialises in silver and gold jewellery made as limited edition pieces. Recent work incorporates floral designs with long silver chains and semi-precious stones such as lapis lazuli and turquoise, alongside delicate silver brooches and drop earrings. Her work includes rings, drop and stud earrings, wrap-over necklaces, pendants and brooches.

Opening times for Origin are 11 – 7pm Monday – Friday, 10 -6pm Saturday and Sunday with a late night on Thursday until 9pm. Ticket prices are £8.00 per day, £6.00 for children. Season tickets are available.
